CHERP PI Elected to the Association of American Physicians, 03/04/2009

Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, PA -- CHERP Principal Investigator Michael J. Fine, MD, MSc has been elected to the Association of American Physicians (AAP), a long-standing professional association dedicated to advancing clinical medicine through scientific experiment and discovery. Each year 60 individuals are recognized for their excellence in the pursuit of these goals through nomination and subsequent election by the Council of the Association. Dr. Fine and his fellow newly-elected AAP members will join their colleagues at the annual meeting in April 2009. Currently, AAP is composed of about 1000 active members and approximately 550 emeritus and honorary members from the United States, Canada and other countries.


In addition to leading VA CHERP, Dr. Fine is a Staff Physician at the VA Pittsburgh Healthcare System and Professor of Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. As a health services researcher, Dr Fine has focused on the development and implementation of evidence-based approaches for the management of pneumonia.
